Astrocartography and relocation charts are a relatively new branch of astrology that has existed since the 1970s (also known as local astrology), where your birth chart is overlaid onto a world map to reveal which places on Earth resonate with you the most. If your birth chart is a snapshot of where all the planets were in the sky at the moment of your birth, an astrocartography map connects that to where all those planets were rising and setting around the world.
What is Astrocartography?
Astrocartography appears as a visual guide — a world map with lines for each planet. Places that fall on lines or line crossings are significant and transformative. They show what energy you will be best able to express at certain points in the world.
Place matters enormously. Sometimes we outgrow our surroundings, sometimes we need new energy. Astrocartography helps find places that resonate with our destiny and allow us to unlock our full potential.
Planet lines on the map exert an influence similar to their meanings in the natal chart: Saturn — responsibility, Venus — love, Jupiter — luck, Mercury — communication, and so on.
How to draw your map?
You can create your own map on myarcana.com.ua and see which places in the world your planetary lines fall on. It is also important to consider the chart angles: the Ascendant (AC), the Midheaven (MC), the Descendant (DC), and the Imum Coeli (IC), which show different aspects of personal development.
- Ascendant (AC): how you appear to the world.
- Midheaven (MC): career, status, and reputation.
- Descendant (DC): partnerships and relationships.
- Imum Coeli (IC): family, roots, and inner stability.
How to use Astrocartography?
Here is what planetary lines can suggest about which places are suited for certain goals:
- Chiron: healing and working through trauma.
- Venus: love, pleasure, and harmony.
- Mars: action, challenges, and ambition.
- Jupiter: luck, growth, and adventure.
- Pluto: transformation and renewal.
- Sun: confidence and personal power.
- Moon: emotions and intuition.
- Mercury: communication, learning, and commerce.
- Saturn: responsibility and maturity.
- Uranus: change, innovation, and freedom.
- Neptune: fantasy, spirituality, and illusion.
Each line opens up opportunities for growth in certain areas of life. Use the map as a guide to where on Earth you can express your strongest qualities and discover new dimensions of yourself.
