MyArcana Features: Astrology Calculators, Natal Charts and the Destiny Matrix
Last updated: October 2026
MyArcana is a free astrology site where calculators and reference material work together. You can calculate a natal chart, a destiny matrix, a compatibility matrix and an astrocartography map, check the moon phase, read a lunar horoscope, and look up the meaning of terms in the wiki. For longer write-ups of individual topics, see the Articles section.
This page is a guide to the whole site. For every tool it explains what data is needed, what the result shows, what the calculation is based on and where its limits are. It also marks what is linked automatically in MyArcana and what the reader has to navigate to manually.
All calculations are free and need no registration. Signing in with Google is only required for AI interpretations, some of the text blocks and comments.

What is linked automatically
- Astrocartography lines and the wiki. The text that appears after you click a line on the map comes from the astrocartography wiki entries, the same ones that open in the wiki's Astrocartography section.
- Compatibility matrix and destiny matrix. Compatibility first calculates a personal matrix for each of the two people using the same algorithm as the destiny matrix page.
- Moon calendar and lunar horoscope. The pages link to each other, and the Moon's house in the horoscope is calculated with the Placidus system, as in the natal chart.
- Calculation history. Each calculator saves your results in the browser and lists them next to the form.
- Articles and calculators. Some articles link to calculators where you can test the topic on your own data, and the four latest articles are shown below the natal chart form.
What the reader does manually
- Natal chart → wiki. The result has no links to the wiki: the meanings of planets, signs and houses open separately, through Astro Wiki or the links in this guide.
- Matrix → arcana. Matrix positions do not link to arcana pages automatically: the result shows the arcana card, and the full meaning is found in the wiki's Arcana section.
- Tool → tool. Data is not passed between calculators: you enter the date and place of birth in each one separately.
- Wiki → wiki. Entries are self-contained reference pages that do not link to each other; the easiest way to move between them is the section index.
Natal Chart
The calculator builds a map of the sky for the moment and place of birth and shows it as a wheel and a set of tables. The astronomical part is calculated by Swiss Ephemeris, the library behind a large share of professional astrology software.
What you need to enter
- A name, which is optional.
- The date of birth.
- The time of birth (hours and minutes) or the "I don't know my birth time" checkbox.
- The place of birth: city and country, with suggestions. The name is turned into coordinates, and the time zone is determined from them, taking historical changes such as daylight saving time into account.
What is calculated
- The positions of the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto in the signs, with degrees, minutes and a retrograde mark.
- Additional points: the true (north) lunar node, Lilith (the mean lunar apogee) and Chiron.
- The Ascendant and the Midheaven (MC).
- Twelve houses with cusp positions and the house of each planet; the default system is Placidus.
- Five major aspects (conjunction, sextile, square, trine, opposition) between planets, points, the Ascendant and the MC, with the exact orb.
- The Sun/Moon and Ascendant/MC midpoints, dominant planets and the distribution by element.
What you see in the result
A chart wheel with aspect lines: hovering over a planet or an aspect shows a tooltip, and the chart can be saved as an image. Below the wheel are tables: midpoints, planet positions, house cusps, dominant planets, dominant elements and a list of aspects. All of this is available without signing in.
Interpretation
The interpretation text is created by AI from the data that has already been calculated, when you press the button. Signing in with Google is required for this; the limit is 5 interpretations per day. It is informational and entertainment text, not a forecast and not professional advice.
Why the exact time and place matter
The signs of the Sun and the slow planets hardly depend on the birth time, but the Ascendant changes sign roughly every two hours (depending on latitude), and house cusps move even faster. Without an exact time, the Ascendant, MC and houses are therefore unreliable. If you tick "I don't know my birth time", the calculator uses a placeholder time (14:00): in that case rely only on the planets' signs, and check the Moon's sign separately, because it may be wrong if the Moon changes sign that day.
What is not available yet
The house system and the aspect orbs cannot be changed: they are the same for everyone. There are no general planetary transits, progressions or comparison of two natal charts; the only transit calculation is the Moon's house in the lunar horoscope.

Destiny Matrix
The destiny matrix is a numerological system in which the numbers of the birth date are reduced to one of the 22 Major Arcana of the Tarot. Only the date is needed: the time and place of birth do not affect the result. The layout of positions follows the books on the Destiny Matrix method, and the formula is deterministic, so the same date always gives the same result.
What you need to enter
The date of birth (day, month, year), plus an optional name and gender, which the form asks for in some interpretations.
What is calculated
The base positions are the day, the month, the year (the sum of its digits), their sum and the center of the matrix (the comfort zone). From them come the ancestral square (the sky and earth lines, the mother's and father's lines), talents, the chakra map (physics, energy, emotions), the karmic tail, material and love karma, four purposes (up to 40 years, 40–60 years, general and planetary) and the energies by year of life over an 80-year cycle.
How to read the result
The result is an octagram that can be saved as an image, plus 16 thematic blocks. Each has the values of its positions in circles, the card of the matching arcanum, a mini-diagram with the highlighted points and an interpretation text; the last one is the "Action Map". The blocks are: birth energy, inner self, personality, the chakra health map, karmic tail, spiritual-creative, parent-child, material, love and money karma, soul mission, life script, talents, ancestry, current energy and year code. The health map is symbolic, not medical.
Texts and signing in
The first three blocks (birth energy, inner self and personality) are open without signing in; the remaining texts appear after signing in with Google. The texts are written by AI from prompts based on books: some are already stored in the database, and when a new combination of positions has no text yet, the AI creates it while you view the page and saves it. Every stored text is then reread by a person, and inaccuracies are corrected.
Where to find the meanings of the arcana
Separate pages for the Destiny Matrix arcana are collected in the wiki's Arcana section. The section is filled in gradually: 9 of the 22 Major Arcana are published so far.
- 1 The "Magician" Arcana in the Destiny Matrix
- 2 Arcanum "The High Priestess" in the Matrix of Destiny
- 3 Arcana "The Empress" in the Destiny Matrix
- 4th Arcanum "The Emperor" in the Matrix of Destiny
- 5 Arcanum "The Hierophant" (The High Priest) in the Matrix of Destiny
- 6th Arcanum "The Lovers" in the Matrix of Destiny
- 7th Arcanum "The Chariot" in the Destiny Matrix
- 8th Arcana "Justice" in the Matrix of Destiny
- 9th Arcanum "The Hermit" in the Matrix of Destiny

Compatibility Matrix
The compatibility matrix analyzes a couple from two dates of birth. It rests on the same system as the destiny matrix but looks at the relationship rather than at one person: the energies of two partners combine into a joint octagram of the couple.
What you need to enter
The name, gender and date of birth of each of the two people. The time and place of birth are not needed.
How it is calculated
First the calculator computes a personal matrix for each person, using the same algorithm as the destiny matrix page. Then the base positions of the two matrices are added pairwise, and the method's rules derive the couple's secondary points from them: the entry into the relationship, the financial channel, karmic points and so on.
What the result contains
Three metrics, "Relationship", "Union" and "Harmony" (the last sums the first two); a joint octagram of the couple; a comparison table of both partners' personal matrices; and 16 thematic blocks: the couple's atmosphere, first meeting, intimacy, what gets in the way, how to preserve love, the intimate sphere, karmic lessons, the couple's personal, social and spiritual purpose, a forecast for the couple, the couple as parents, tasks within the couple, material karma, the money channel and the couple's action map.
What is open without signing in
The calculation and the octagram are free and need no sign-in. The texts of the first three blocks (the couple's atmosphere, first meeting and intimacy) are open too; the remaining texts appear after signing in with Google.
How it differs from the destiny matrix
The destiny matrix describes one person: their talents, karma and purpose. The compatibility matrix shows how two people interact, and it suits any pair: romantic, friendly, business or family. Difficult arcana here are areas to work on as a couple, not a verdict on the relationship.

Astrocartography
Astrocartography shows where on Earth, at the moment of your birth, each planet stood on one of the angles of the sky: rising, setting, or at its highest or lowest point. These places are drawn on a world map as lines.
A name (optional), the date, time and place of birth: the same form as in the natal chart.
What is calculated
For twelve bodies (the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Chiron and the true node) four lines are drawn: AC (rising), DC (setting), MC (upper culmination) and IC (lower culmination, the nadir). For the MC and IC lines, zenith points are also marked. Planet positions are calculated by Swiss Ephemeris.
How to work with the map
The map is interactive and built on OpenStreetMap: you can zoom and pan it, switch planets on and off in the list, and hover over a line for a tooltip. The birthplace is marked with a pin. Clicking a line opens its description below the map.
Mathematics and interpretation are different things
The positions of the lines are geometry, and the calculation can be checked. Their meanings are astrological tradition: the descriptions for each "planet + line" pair come from the astrocartography wiki entries, while the AI interpretation of the whole map is created on request (sign-in required, up to 5 per day) and suggests where in the world, by astrological logic, certain themes are amplified. This is an interpretation, not a measured property of a place.
Accuracy
The birth time is critical here: an error of one hour shifts the MC and IC lines by roughly 15° of longitude. That is why the "I don't know my birth time" checkbox is of little use for astrocartography: a placeholder time produces placeholder lines.

Moon Tools
Two sections deal with the Moon: the general moon calendar and the personal lunar horoscope.
Moon Calendar and Moon Phases
The page needs no data and shows the Moon's state for today or for any date chosen in the calendar. It includes the current phase and illumination, the key phases (new moon, first quarter, full moon, last quarter) with the nearest one, the lunar day, the zodiac sign and degree of the Moon, its age, the distance to the Moon and the Sun, the angular diameter, moonrise and moonset, the Moon's aspects to the planets over the day, Void of Course periods, the nearest solar and lunar eclipses and a monthly calendar.
Moonrise and moonset are calculated for a typical city of your language version, not for where you are.
Check the moon phaseLunar Horoscope
The daily horoscope is built from three factors: the lunar day, the Moon's sign and the phase. This part is the same for everyone. The personal part appears after you enter a date, time and place of birth: the calculator determines which of the 12 houses of your natal chart (Placidus) the Moon is in today and picks the text by house, sign and phase. You can view the horoscope for another date. Birth data can be remembered in the browser with the "save locally" checkbox.
Get a lunar horoscopeWhat is calculated and what is interpreted
The positions of the Moon and the Sun, the sign, aspects, Void of Course and eclipses are calculated with Swiss Ephemeris; illumination, the Moon's age, moonrise and moonset come from the SunCalc library. The meanings of the lunar day, sign, phase and house are astrological interpretations: texts written by AI from prompts based on books. They are neither scientific fact nor a forecast of events.
Astro Wiki: Wiki and Knowledge Base
Astro Wiki is a reference in which every concept has its own page: an image, a short description, a full article with navigation by headings and comments (you can leave them after signing in; they are published after moderation). There are five sections; you can switch between them with the navigation at the top of each section and with the cards on the wiki home page. Each entry page has breadcrumbs: Astro Wiki → section → entry.
In this language version, 55 entries are currently published.
Wiki entries do not link to each other, so the easiest way to move between them is the section index or the lists below.
Planets
The Sun, the Moon and the planets up to Pluto. A planet page usually contains general information, main associations, characteristics, influence in the natal chart, behavioral traits, mythology and symbolism, and key cycles.
Zodiac Signs
A sign entry describes character and behavior, weaknesses and challenges, love and compatibility, friendship and family, career and finances, and the traits of men and women of that sign.
Astrological Houses
A house entry explains the areas of life the house governs and its meaning in each of the zodiac signs.
- The first house. The "I" house.
- The second house. The house of values
- Third House: House of Communication
- The Fourth House: The House of Home
- The Fifth House: The House of Pleasure
- The sixth house: The house of health
- The Seventh House: The House of Relationships
- The Eighth House: The House of Sex and Death
- The Ninth House: The House of Spirituality
- The Tenth House: The House of Ambition
- The Eleventh House: The House of Friendship
- The Twelfth House: The House of Secrets
Tarot Arcana
The arcana are covered in the context of the Destiny Matrix. An arcanum entry contains a general characteristic, the main meaning, the symbolism of the card, the meaning of the arcanum in the matrix and, separately, for women and men.

- 7th Arcanum "The Chariot" in the Destiny Matrix
- 8th Arcana "Justice" in the Matrix of Destiny
- 9th Arcanum "The Hermit" in the Matrix of Destiny
Astrocartography Lines
One entry for each body on the map. An entry describes the AC, DC, MC and IC lines of that planet and the planet's general meaning in astrocartography. These are the descriptions the map shows after you click a line.
- Sun Lines in Astrocartography

Articles and Learning Materials
The Articles section is a feed of publications from newest to oldest. Each article has an image, a teaser, a full text with navigation by headings and comments. Topics: astrological forecasts and transits, retrograde planets, eclipses and lunar events, natal chart elements explained (the Ascendant, aspects, planets in signs and houses), the destiny matrix and karmic tails, astrocartography, tarot and zodiac signs.
The section has no categories, search or filters: you navigate by headlines and teasers.
Articles cover individual topics in more depth than the short wiki entries, and some of them link to calculators where you can test the topic on your own data.
Read the articlesCalculation Accuracy and Methodology
The astronomical part is deterministic and can be checked, while the interpretation is astrological tradition and text created with the help of AI. Below is what the calculations rest on and where their limits lie.
Astronomical data
The positions of the planets, the Moon, the Ascendant and the houses are calculated by Swiss Ephemeris, an astronomical library with ephemerides based on NASA JPL data. The birth time is converted to UTC using the time zone of the place, determined from coordinates with historical changes taken into account. The place is looked up by name: first in a built-in city database, then through the OpenStreetMap Nominatim and Google geocoding services; the first match found is used.
Houses and aspects
The house system is Placidus. If it cannot be calculated for very high latitudes, the calculator tries Koch, Regiomontanus, Campanus, the Equal House system and Whole Sign in turn. The aspects are the five major ones with fixed orbs: conjunction 8°, trine 8°, opposition 7°, square 6°, sextile 4°. The house system and orbs cannot be changed.
Dominant planets and elements
Dominants are calculated with a weighted scheme that takes into account dignities (rulership, exaltation, detriment, fall), the type of house, closeness to the chart angles, rulership of the Ascendant, Sun, Moon and MC, and the planet's aspects. It is MyArcana's own scheme, not a generally accepted astrological standard.
Destiny and compatibility matrices
The calculations are numerological: the numbers of the day, month and year are reduced to the range 1–22 (if a number is above 22, its digits are added), and the derived positions are sums of earlier ones, also reduced to 1–22. The result does not depend on the time or place of birth. There are different schools and variants of the matrix layout, so other calculators may give different positions.
Moon calculations
The Moon's sign and degree, aspects, Void of Course and eclipses are calculated with Swiss Ephemeris; illumination, the Moon's age, moonrise and moonset come from the SunCalc library. The data updates every time the page is opened or another date is chosen.
Limits of accuracy
- The result depends on the data entered: a mistake in the date, time or place produces a different chart.
- Without an exact time the Ascendant, MC and houses are unreliable, and in astrocartography so are the positions of the lines.
- For small places that share a name, include the country: the calculator takes the first match it finds.
- Astrology, the destiny matrix and tarot have no scientific confirmation: they are symbolic systems for reflection and self-discovery, not forecasts of events or the advice of a doctor, psychologist, lawyer or financial adviser.
The role of AI
The meanings of positions and arcana are collected from books and practice, and AI (language models from Anthropic and Google) turns them into readable text. The texts of the matrix, compatibility and moon page blocks and of the wiki are stored in the database: some are prepared in advance, some are created while a page is viewed, and a person rereads all of them and corrects mistakes. Natal chart and astrocartography interpretations are created on request for one specific result, so there is no manual check of each of them. Translations into other languages are also done by AI, so some phrases may sound less natural than the original. How we describe our own editorial practice is on the About page.
Privacy and Access
Is registration required
The calculators, moon pages, wiki and articles work without an account. Signing in is only through Google. It is needed for AI interpretations of the natal chart and astrocartography (up to 5 per day for each tool), for the full set of text blocks of the destiny and compatibility matrices (three blocks are open without signing in) and for comments.
Where results are stored
Finished calculations are stored in the browser of this device and are available in the calculation history on the tool's page. The limits are 20 natal charts, 20 matrices, 15 compatibility matrices and 10 astrocartography maps; older ones are replaced by newer ones. A link to a result works only in the same browser, and the history can be cleared. In the lunar horoscope, birth data is remembered in the browser with the "save locally" checkbox.
What is sent to the server
For a calculation, the data you enter is sent to the site's server, and the place name is sent to geocoding services to find coordinates. For AI interpretations, the calculation result is passed to the providers of the language models. The full rules, including cookies, analytics and advertising, are in the privacy policy.
Cookies and advertising
The site shows a cookie consent banner. Necessary cookies keep you signed in and remember your language choice. The site is free thanks to Google AdSense advertising, and ad personalization is enabled only after you agree in the banner.
Languages
The interface, calculators and wiki are available in ten languages: Ukrainian (myarcana.com.ua) and English, Czech, German, Spanish, Italian, French, Polish, Portuguese and Turkish (myarcanas.com; English at the site root, the others in sections such as /cs and /de). The language is switched in the site header. The wiki translations were produced with the help of AI.
MyArcana is intended for entertainment and self-reflection. Interpretations do not replace professional advice: medical, psychological, legal or financial.

Frequently Asked Questions
What calculations can I do on MyArcana?+
A natal chart, a destiny matrix, a compatibility matrix for two people and an astrocartography map. There is also a moon calendar with moon phases and a lunar horoscope. All calculations are free.
Is registration required?+
No, calculations need no registration. Signing in with Google is only required for AI interpretations of the natal chart and astrocartography, for the full set of text blocks of the destiny and compatibility matrices, and for comments.
Do I need an exact birth time for a natal chart?+
For the Ascendant, the Midheaven and the houses, yes: they change quickly over the course of a day. The signs of the Sun and the slow planets hardly depend on the time. If you don't know the time, tick "I don't know my birth time", but remember that the calculator will use a placeholder time.
How is a natal chart different from a destiny matrix?+
A natal chart is an astronomical calculation: it shows where the planets were at the moment and place of your birth, so it needs a date, time and place. A destiny matrix is a numerological scheme that reduces the numbers of the birth date to 22 arcana; it needs only the date.
How does the compatibility matrix work?+
The calculator computes a personal matrix for each person from their date of birth, adds their base positions pairwise and derives the couple's points from them. The result is three metrics, a joint octagram and thematic blocks about the relationship.
What does astrocartography show?+
A world map with AC, DC, MC and IC lines for planets and points: the places where, at the moment of your birth, a planet was on the corresponding angle of the sky. The meaning of the lines is an astrological interpretation, not a measured fact.
How can I check the current moon phase?+
Open the Moon Phases page: it immediately shows the current phase, illumination, lunar day and the Moon's sign. You can pick another date in the calendar on the same page.
Where are my results stored?+
In the browser of your device. They are not tied to an account, and a link to a result works only in the same browser. You can delete the calculation history on the tool's page.
Are the interpretation texts written by a person or by AI?+
The meanings of positions are collected from books and practice, and AI turns them into readable text. Stored texts (matrix, compatibility, moon and wiki) are reread by a person who corrects mistakes. The calculations themselves are done by algorithms, not by AI. Natal chart and astrocartography interpretations are created on request for one specific result, so there is no manual check of each of them.
Are the interpretations scientific forecasts?+
No. Astrology, the destiny matrix and tarot have no scientific confirmation. They are symbolic systems for reflection and self-discovery, so they should not be used as a basis for medical, legal or financial decisions.
