This Privacy Policy explains what data MyArcana collects when you use our astrology tools (natal chart, Destiny Matrix, Compatibility Matrix, astrocartography, lunar horoscope, and calendar), why we need it, and how long we keep it.

We wrote this Policy in plain language, without unnecessary legal jargon. If something is unclear, write to us at the email address listed at the bottom of the page. The general rules for using the site and the nature of our content are described in a separate Terms of Use.

Interpretation and Definitions

Words with the initial letter capitalized have the meanings defined below. These definitions apply the same way regardless of whether the word appears in the singular or plural.

Definitions

• Company: Company (referred to in the text as 'We', 'Us', or 'Our') means MyArcana.
• Service: Service means the Website.
• Website: Website means MyArcana, accessible at https://myarcanas.com/
• You: You means the individual using the Service.
• Account: Account is the account you create to sign in to the Service through Google, which gives you access to extra features: calculation history on this device, AI interpretations, and future premium features.
• Cookies: Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser, for example to remember that you are signed in, or which language you selected.
• Country: Country means: United States
• Device: Device means any device you use to access the Service: a computer, phone, or tablet.
• Personal Data: Personal Data is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual, such as an email address or a name.
• Usage Data: Usage Data is technical information collected automatically while you use the Service, such as browser type or the length of a visit.
• Service Provider: Service Provider is a third-party company that processes data on the Company's behalf: for example, website hosting, the database, an AI provider, or a geolocation service used to determine a city's coordinates.
• Sign in with Google: This is currently the only way to create an account on the Service. We do not offer sign-in through Facebook, Instagram, or other social networks.

What Data We Collect

Your Account Data

If you sign in to the site through Google, we receive from Google and store in our database:

• Your email address
• Your name and avatar (profile photo)
• The date your account was created and the date of your last sign-in

In addition, technical Usage Data is collected automatically while you use the Service.

This includes your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, the pages you visited, the time and duration of your visit, and similar diagnostic information. We use this data to run the site, for statistics, and to troubleshoot technical issues.

This data is collected automatically regardless of whether you are signed in or not.

If you sign in through Google, we receive only your email address, name, and avatar from Google - nothing else. We do not have access to any other data in your Google account.

Birth Data and Astrological Calculations

To calculate a natal chart, Destiny Matrix, Compatibility Matrix, astrocartography, or lunar horoscope, you enter a name, date, time, and place of birth. Here is what happens to this data:

• We do NOT store your date, time, and place of birth on our server. They are needed only for a single calculation and are not retained on the server right after it.
• The finished result (chart, matrix, horoscope) is stored only in your browser, on your device. We do not have access to these results and do not see them on our side.
• To determine the coordinates of the city you entered, the place name is sent to third-party geolocation services: OpenStreetMap Nominatim (primary) and Google Geocoding API (backup, if the first one does not respond). These services receive only the name of the locality, without your date of birth or your name.
• If you order an AI interpretation, the calculated astrological data (planet positions, signs, houses; without your name) is sent to one of our AI providers: Google Gemini, Google Vertex AI, or Anthropic Claude, depending on the tool. They process this data only to generate the interpretation text.
• On the server side, we only keep anonymized statistics: how many charts were calculated per day or month, and, if you are signed in, a counter of your AI interpretations needed to enforce the daily limit. These counters contain neither your date of birth nor calculation results.

Cookies

We use cookies to run the site and, with your consent, for analytics and advertising. On your first visit, you see a banner where you can accept or decline analytics and advertising.

Necessary cookies: keep you signed in to your account (through NextAuth) and remember the site language you selected. Without them, some Service features will not work, and you cannot remove them through the banner.

Analytics and advertising cookies: activated only after your consent through the banner (Google Analytics, Google AdSense). You can withdraw your consent at any time by declining or revoking it in the banner.

Cookies can be 'persistent' (they stay on your device for some time even after you close the browser) or 'session' cookies (deleted as soon as you close the browser).

Advertising and Analytics

We use Google AdSense to display advertising on the site. Google, as a third-party vendor, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

Ad personalization is enabled only with your consent through the cookie banner. Without consent, Google shows non-personalized ads.

You can opt out of personalized advertising from Google in the settings at https://www.google.com/settings/ads. Read more about how Google uses data at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads. Other options for opting out of personalized advertising: https://www.aboutads.info/choices.

We also use Google Analytics to collect anonymized visit statistics: page views, session duration, device type, and approximate location. This data helps us improve the site and is not used to identify a specific individual.

How We Use Your Data

To provide the Service itself: calculating natal charts, Destiny Matrices, compatibility, astrocartography, and lunar horoscopes at your request.

To manage your account, if you signed in through Google: showing your nickname and avatar, storing the date of your last sign-in.

To enforce the daily limit on AI interpretations and prevent misuse of the Service.

To improve the Service: analyzing anonymized usage statistics for our tools and fixing technical issues.

To email you when necessary for account operation or security (for example, a notice about account deletion).

In the future, if we launch paid premium features with a small monthly fee: to process your payment and grant access to the paid features. We will update this Policy with details before such features become available.

Who We Share Your Data With

Service Providers who process data on our behalf: hosting and the database where your account is stored; AI providers (Google Gemini, Google Vertex AI, Anthropic Claude) for generating interpretations; geolocation services (OpenStreetMap Nominatim, Google Geocoding) for determining city coordinates.

Google: if you sign in through a Google account, and also through Google Analytics and Google AdSense.

Law enforcement or government authorities, if explicitly required by law.

A new owner, if the Service is sold, merged with another company, or transferred in another way. We will notify you of this in advance.

In the future, for paid features: a payment provider that processes your payment. We will not store card numbers on our own servers.

Anyone else - only if you give your clear consent to it.

How Long We Keep Your Data

We do not store the date, time, and place of birth you enter for calculations on our server at all: they are used once and forgotten right after. We keep your account data (email, name, avatar) while your account is active; if you delete your account, we delete this data, except where the law requires us to keep information longer (for example, records of future payments). We may keep anonymized usage statistics for the Service longer, since they do not allow us to identify a specific individual.

Transfer of Your Data Abroad

Some of our Service Providers (hosting, database, AI providers, Google) may process data on servers located outside your country. This means your data may be transferred to other countries, where data protection rules differ from those in your country. By agreeing to this Policy, you also agree to such a transfer. We choose providers that ensure an adequate level of data protection.

Deleting Your Data

You can delete your account at any time in your profile settings - this will remove your data (email, name, avatar) from our database. Calculation results stored locally in your browser can be deleted there, in your site or browser settings. You can also write to us to request access to your data, its correction, or its deletion.

Disclosure of Your Data

If the Company is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your Personal Data may be transferred to the new owner. We will notify you before the transfer takes place.

Under certain circumstances, the Company may be required to disclose your Personal Data if required by law or in response to a valid request by a government authority (for example, a court).

The Company may disclose your Personal Data if it believes in good faith that this is necessary to: comply with a legal obligation, protect the rights and property of the Company, prevent possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service, protect the safety of users or the public, protect against legal liability.

Security of Your Data

The security of your data matters to us, but no method of transmitting data over the internet or storing it is 100% secure. We use commercially accepted technical measures to protect your data, but we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone in that age group. If you are a parent or guardian and you learn that a child has created an account or provided us with personal data, please contact us - we will delete that information.

Links to Other Websites

Our Service may contain links to third-party websites that we do not control. We advise you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit. We are not responsible for the content or practices of any third-party sites or services.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when we add a new tool or launch paid premium features. We will notify you of any material changes on this page and update the 'Last updated' date at the top. We advise you to review this page periodically.
